Craig's wife, Sarah, started making overnight oats as a response to the busy rush each morning trying to get everyone fed, dressed and out the door each morning.
We love making Overnight Oats as it's something we can ahead of time (usually at night when the kids are in bed), they're super versatile so you won't feel like you're eating the same thing everyday, and they take literally seconds to prepare in the morning... just take the lid off!
Soaking overnight means we don't have to cook the oats in the morning, and as we eat them cold it's the perfect start to a hot summers day (though we eat it all year round!). Soaking also unlocks the goodness in the oats & chia seeds.
It's best done once or twice per week, so be sure to pop by and poach some jars from our Jar Exchange. We use 375ml peanut butter jars, but you can use whatever suits! Feel free to scale things up or down, but we find this is the perfect serve for us. Make sure your jars are super clean, particularly if you are preparing more than a few days ahead.

Overnight Oats:
Ingredients (per jar):
Dry Ingredients:
1/2 Cup Oats (we choose organic)
1/2 Tbs Protein Powder (we use hemp, but you can use whatever you like - even flavoured ones will work!)
1/2 tsp Chia Seed
Wet Ingredients:
1/2 Cup Milk (we choose Almond, again use what you want!)
1 Tbsp Greek Yoghurt
2 Tbs assorted seasonal fruit - chopped small.
Method:
Place all dry ingredients into each jar (we use a funnel to avoid spillage). Give them a bit of a mix or shake to combine.
Add wet ingredients and stir well, ensuring it's all combined nicely.
Place lid on tightly and pop into the fridge.
That's it!
To consume, simply pop off the lid and enjoy! I personally add a further splash of milk to make it a bit runnier, and Sarah likes to add a teaspoon of Peanut Butter & Honey to hers. Yum!
