Homemade Natural Muesli Bars

What if we told you that Muesli Bars don't have to be expensive, full of sugar and cheap stuff?


Using this recipe allows you to make huge batches of delicious bars for a fraction of the cost of buying them from the supermarket. You control the ingredients (or in this case, lack of junk!), the flavours and the cost too!


This recipe is very versatile, and open to interpretation. At it's essence, you just need to grab your choice of Muesli we make in-store, some natural peanut butter and some raw honey and you've got everything you need.


Feel free to add other stuff you love - pictured below we had our Antioxidant Muesli w/ Freeze Dried Raspberries coated in Dark Chocolate, our Nuts & Craisins Muesli covered in Yoghurt and our GF Rise & Shine Muesli without any additions.


This is a recipe adapted by RecipeTinEats - LINK - but made easier thanks to our ready-made muesli options. If you're not familiar with their recipes & books you gotta get onboard. Every recipe Nagi produces is 10/10 and her cookbooks (available Big W) are super cheap and FULL of amazing recipes (each book is 200+ pages!).



Ingredients:

3 ½ (500g) Cups Raw Muesli*

175g Honey*

120g Natural Peanut Butter


Method:

1. Place Muesli into a large microwave safe mixing bowl and place a sheet of baking paper into the bottom of a medium size slice tray

2. Place Honey & Peanut Butter into a saucepan over medium heat and stir to combine. Turn down to low heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. It will turn into a thick ‘caramel’ consistency

3. Working quickly, immediately pour the ‘glue’ over the muesli and stir/stab to combine. If it gets too tough, place the bowl into the microwave for 10-20 seconds to soften the ‘glue’.

4. Use your spatula to press into prepared tray. The harder you press it the chewier your bars will be!

Refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm and then cut into bars.


* You can choose from any muesli we make in-store. For a GF option we suggest our Rise & Shine Muesli.

* Substitute Rice Malt or Maple Syrup for a Vegan alternative.


Use our Natural Peanut Butter – it’s made with 100% Aussie Peanuts and nothing else. It’s tastier and healthier than the commercial varieties.


Try adding 2-3 Tablespoons of chopped Freeze Dried Raspberries or Strawberries into the muesli for a fruity hit – available in-store!


Melt some Yoghurt Buds or Chocolate and use a spoon to drizzle over the bars before cutting. Place back into fridge for 5-10 minutes to set.
