PERI PERI SEASONING
A blend of chillies used to rub on chicken and meats in South African cooking.
Piri Piri is another name for chillies, generally used in South Africa and parts of India. Peri Peri or Piri Piri is usually a blend of chillies, much like Cayenne Pepper, and it will have an expected tangy taste profile. Thus a Peri Peri sauce is a hot chilli sauce.
Peri Peri spice blend is also ideal as a Portuguese marinade to season chicken and red meats. Simply rub the meat with Peri Peri spice blend, allow to marinate for up to an hour in the refrigerator and then barbecue, grill or roast.
