Weigh 'n Pay Breakfast Mix

Recipe:

Hello,

Below is the breakfast mix that I make for myself each day.  I feel more comfortable emailing it to you than posting it straight to your web site.  You may want to add some notes or correct some of what I have written.

This, as you can imagine is a whole meal and is sustaining for many hours.  I really don't want to nibble in between.  Because I am only borderline diabetic it is not necessary for me to eat every two hours or so, so maybe a caution should be added for diabetics.  I have experimented with eating some now and the rest later and it is okay except for the cereal which goes soggy.  Maybe the mix is enough without the added cereal - you may wish to experiment with this before posting to your web site.

My breakfast mix:

I place the below in a bowl and stir/mix together.  I use measuring spoons for accuracy.

1 tablespoon Gojo berries

1 tablespoon Barley bran

1 tablespoon L.S.A.

1 tablespoon Lecithin

1 tablespoon Amaranth

1 teaspoon Flaxseed Oil - I only use 1 teaspoon of the oil as I also take flaxseed oil capsules at bedtime.

1 teaspoon Cinnamon - research indicates that cinnamon helps to reduce blood sugars.

1 teaspoon Spirulina

1 handful Rolled Oats - regular rolled oats, not "instant".

1 handful Cereal - I choose a 98% fat free, low sugar, whole grain variety with added dried fruit, as free from preservatives and additives as I can manage and with a Heart Foundation tick.

Walnuts and Almonds - 30g or so of each.

Fresh fruit, frozen berries (defrosted) (I choose frozen berries because they are high in antioxidants etc and have no additional sugar from a syrup), stewed fruit (eg apple, stewed plain water or in no added sugar apple juice).

Fruit yoghurt - (low fat, no preventives, no additives).  I use enough yoghurt to mix the above mixture together and to have a moist consistency.

I have some complex health issues - Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Osteo arthritis, Fibromyalgia, borderline diabetic and an elevated cholesterol level.  I am also a few kilos overweight and am trying to loose that.  My dietary choices are important for all of these reasons.

The above mix is compatible with and addressed all of my health issues and whilst it looks rather disgusting because of the spirulina it tastes, in my opinion, really delicious.  The added fruit and fruit in the cereal mix goes toward my 2 fruit for the day.  With this mix I am also managing fibre, calcium, omega 3 etc.

I hope you enjoy tasting and maybe even experimenting with the above mix.  I would be happy for your feedback and any suggestions you may wish to offer.

Regards

Lesley
